FF Wins Best Animation at Ciclope Asia

September 19th 2019

We’re extremely proud that Back To The Stars, our film for Ritz-Carlton, Sanya, directed by Le Cube, has just won Best Animation at CICLOPE Asia.  CICLOPE is the world’s number one festival awarding craft in advertising production - a key objective in all that we do - so we’re especially happy to have been recognised on this stage.  The award was announced on Thursday 5th in this year's host city, Tokyo.  Incidentally, Back To The Stars was the only winning work from China across all categories in 2019.

The award is the latest in a pretty remarkable year of accolades for Back To The Stars.  The other major standout was picking up a Graphite Pencil at the D&AD Awards in London, the highest stage awarding exceptional design.  Among the other prizes were Shortlists at Ciclope Latam (the South American edition of the festival) as well as important shows New York Festivals Advertising Awards and The One Show.  In China, the film has been won medals at both the Golden Lions and ROI Festival.

Back To The Stars

The story began when Saatchi & Saatchi and Team One approached us about producing the latest short film in the Ritz-Carlton’s “Let Us Stay With You” series.  The story is based on the real life experiences of a guest staying at the Yalong Bay resort in Sanya, a retired and recently widowed former Russian cosmonaut.  The loss of his wife meant he was having trouble enjoying his vacation, despite the idyllic surroundings.  After learning of the man’s story, the hotel staff rallied to create various surprise treats to help ease his suffering.

Making Of Back To The Stars

While awards are gratifying, above all, for us it’s all about working with great partners on projects that test the creative limits.  We can’t wait for the next one.
